Legislative Disaster: Senate ‘border security’ bill offers nothing but the demise of the country
Contrary to the Democrats and RINOs narrative that this bill "solves the border crisis," it actually writes into law the heinous violations of the Constitution at the border

Hype for nearly a week now of the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2024 — a so-called border security measure that also funds Ukrainian and Israeli efforts against adversaries attacking them — has promised a closed border, limits on illegal crossings, revision of the parole program that releases illegals into the U.S. and an end to catch and release.
Reality is the measures not only continue the border crisis but would also make it more difficult for any future enforcement-minded President to fix.
Three Senators secretly negotiated for weeks with the Biden Administration to create a bill that includes more than $20.2 billion for “border” funding and hundreds of pages of alleged “border and immigration reforms.” However, the bulk of the bill is over $60 billion for Ukraine and nearly $15 billion for Israel.
Biden would get more than $7 billion for the Departments of Homeland Security, State, Justice, and Health and Human Services, to again fund “sanctuary” jurisdictions and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). The major recipient of federal grants from the four cabinet-level agencies have been facilitating mass illegal immigration.
Sanctuary mayors and governors have decried the volume and cost of illegal aliens amassed in their jurisdictions, yet they do not terminate their sanctuary policies. Instead, they demand more federal taxpayer money to pay for shelter, transport, and provision of social services to the ever-increasing number of illegal aliens. This bill would deliver for these mayors and governors.
Both the Biden Administration and the sanctuary jurisdiction officials work with a network of secretive NGOs that built and staff the considerable infrastructure that facilitates the mass illegal immigration. Coming from as far south as East Asia, Africa and former Soviet republics, the illegals are quickly spreading throughout the United States.
Multiple videos have shown that NGO staff at shelters, hotels, and airports refuse to answer questions about the illegal aliens they serve. They grow physically abusive when filmed. Congress should be investigating and shutting down this sanctuary-NGO machinery, not giving it more money to continue operating.
Sens. James Lankford (R-OK), Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) authored the useless legislation and tried for a week before its text was finally released to put lipstick on the pig. When that text was revealed late Sunday night, so were their lies.
The flaws in this bill are numerous.
The worst of the bill accepts and codifies crisis levels of daily illegal immigration. If passed into law the bill would create a three-year “Border Emergency Authority” to allow agents to expel illegal aliens back across the border during “extraordinary migration circumstances.”
Sounds like progress, but the numerous exceptions and limitations swallow that authority whole. The Secretary of Homeland Security has the discretion to activate the authority after the U.S. Customs and Boder Protection (CBP) encounters an average of 4,000 illegal aliens daily for seven consecutive days. At a 5,000 daily average over seven days, the emergency authority becomes mandatory. If 8,500 illegals come to the border in a single day, activation of the emergency authority is again mandatory.
If those numbers applied to every single illegal who comes to the border, it would still only prevent a record month such as December 2023 when more than 352,000 illegals entered the country.

But it does not apply to every illegal. Not counted in those numbers are unaccompanied minors, parolees, those who claim a fear of persecution, those who have already been in the U.S. for 14 days or who have already traveled beyond 100 miles from the southwest border to the U.S. interior. Those exclusions will account for nearly 60 percent of illegals entering the U.S. on any given day.
Additionally, even if the DHS Secretary felt the need to activate his emergency authority, he would not be able to activate the authority for more than 270 days, 225 days, and 180 days in calendar years one, two, and three, respectively. The bill then adds cumbersome and confusing calendar calculation requirements that further limit the Secretary’s use of the emergency authority.
Finally and most obnoxiously, both the Secretary and the President could suspend the authority at any time once the emergency authorization is declared.
Adding insult to injury, this fraudulent legislation continues catch-and-release” and guts the mandatory detention statute. It expands and codifies Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas mass parole abuse. It encourages the continuation of asylum fraud and accelerates work permits for illegals.
Gouging American taxpayers, the proposal provides numerous and significant immigration reforms that are unrelated to border security. For one, it requires U.S. taxpayers to fund deportation defense attorneys for unaccompanied aliens under 14 years and aliens found to be incompetent. This could easily be expanded to all illegals so that we, the citizens of the U.S., would pay to subvert our own country.
Providing amnesty (green cards) to Afghans inspected and admitted to the U.S. by the date of the bill’s enactment or paroled from July 30, 2021, until enactment is another feature of the bill, and it would accelerate naturalization for those amnestied Afghans the administration will designate as having aided the U.S. war effort in their native country.
Finally, the so-called “bipartisan” legislation:
· Increases the annual cap on the number of permanent family-based and employment-based immigrant visas for five years.
· Provides minor status and employment authorization for sons and daughters of H-1B visa holders, even though they have turned 21.
· Expands the “business or pleasure purpose” of the “B” temporary visa to add a broad definition of “family purposes.”
· Permits family members to use the broader “B” visa to remain in the U.S. while they await their family-based green card. This undermines the temporary purpose of the “B” visa.
Crime, gang activity, the fentanyl crisis and other problems stemming from a wide open border are not addressed in this bill. The special problem many members of Congress have noted from the unusually high numbers of military-age Chinese men coming into the country is ignored by the legislation’s authors. They are in fact the fastest-growing group of illegals entering the U.S. What possible purpose could there be in China essentially sending six divisions of young, able-bodied men to the U.S., where they have essentially disappeared?
We’ve gone to great lengths here to show you that, despite the endorsement of the Leftist U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Wall Street Journal and — most disturbing — the Customs and Border Patrol union, this bill deserves to be dead on arrival in the House as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has pronounced it.
The backlash to the bill is getting so negative, even Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) seemed to back off the hope the bill would pass when it goes to the floor for a vote Wednesday.
Biden has spent most of the last week lying about his ability to unilaterally close the Southern border. President Donald Trump did so via executive order and Biden rescinded those policies the same way. All he needs to do is reinstate them. (Photo: Manuel Balce Ceneta/Associated Press)
The irony here is that Biden has been lying for weeks about not having the power to control the border. During his first week in office, he issued 94 executive orders reversing policies instituted by President Donald Trump that had given us the most secure border in the previous 40 years. In doing so, he essentially unlocked the floodgates of illegal immigration into the U.S.
The result has been disastrous for the American people.
Car jackings, muggings, assaults and felony drunk driving have all increased in New York City as the result of a huge influx of illegals into the city. Most have been sent by bus or plane from Texas as that state has attempted to alleviate the pressure it feels from the illegals pouring across their border with Mexico.
Democrats cry out for “compassion” for the illegals’ plight. They want them to be treated as endangered, rightfully frightened refugees from corrupt and violent foreign powers.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Aside from the Chinese nationals who can only have nefarious purposes in being here, the MS-13 gang of Central America, Mexico and now have a big footprint in the United States. Ruthless, murderous and sadistically violent, these gang members have been responsible for some of the more horrific crimes recorded by the FBI and local law enforcement in the last 10 years.
Social media stuck its haughty collective nose in the air when President Trump made what has now been shown to be a valid claim that the nations of the world were emptying out their prisons and mental institutions to send the inmates to the Southern border.
The toll of illegal border crossings is not limited to the need for law enforcement to spend valuable time and manhours on crime committed by illegals. The obscene level of financial assistance being given to these freeloaders is astounding.
The City of New York is using local tax dollars to provide prepaid credit cards to illegals to the tune of $1,000 a month. Total bill being footed by NYC taxpayers? $53 million.
Sanctuary cities targeted by Texas officials to receive the massive influx from across the border have spent billions already to feed, house and provide them medical care. New York City alone has asked for nearly $4.3 billion to help cover the expenses of taking care of the illegals that have arrived there the last 18 months.
All told, the bill for providing for these illegals is approaching half a trillion dollars. That is nearly two-thirds of the money spent on our national defense each year. We can’t even properly care of our homeless combat veterans, who numbered 35,574 in 2023 — an increase of 7.4 percent over January 2022.
Imagine what half a trillion could do for them and the other 16.2 million veterans who have honorably served this country but who have only mediocre healthcare from the Veterans Administration (VA) that is supposed to provide that care. Yet the Biden administration can direct the use of VA staff to evaluate and refer illegals for medical care, claiming they do not spend VA funds to do so.
So let’s review.
The Biden administration steadfastly refuses to reenact the trump policies this same administration rescinded in order to put an end to the crisis at the Southern border. Biden lies, claiming he needs “new legislation” to have that power — which, if true, means his initial orders rescinding the Trump policies were illegal.
Instead. Biden wants a bill he and its authors claim will “solve the border crisis” but which in reality makes legal everything he has been doing since taking office — again, indicating he knows those actions to be illegal. Why is this happening?
Plainly and simply, it is the opening strategy in a plot to create millions of reliable Democrat voters that will shift the balance of power and put the party in control in perpetuity.
This is, in essence, a coupe. Without firing a shot, the Democrats will destroy our democratic republic, the Constitution and the freedoms and liberites we have taken for granted. They have been redefining the nature of the United States for years, subliminally replacing the phrase “democrat republic” with “democracy.”
In every region of the world, democracy is under attack by corrupt leaderships and groups that reject pluralism and demand unchecked power to advance the particular interests of their supporters, usually at the expense of minorities and other perceived foes. This is the history of democracies over the last 2,500 years.
This one issue is a test of our resolve to preserve the Union in a way far more serious than any issue raised leading up to the Civil War — and there are many in this election cycle that also qualify. We cannot afford to blink. We cannot afford to minimize what is at stake. We cannot afford to give a pass to the subversive nature of this Fascist Democrat Party.
They do not have the best long-term interests of the United States at heart. They want it to die. No, they want to kill it. They are directly linked to the globalist agenda, the World Economic Forum and other elitists who truly believe they are smarter, more qualified and better positioned than you are to determine the direction of your country, your community and your life.
If you don’t vote for Donald Trump for president this November and support true constitutionalists who will support the restoration of the greatness and glory of the United States, you sign its death warrant.
Take that thought into the voting booth with you.
